Enhance Your Solar Career by Receiving Your NABCEP® PV Technical Sales Certification

The solar industry continues to grow in Rhode Island, with no signs of slowing down. According to the National Solar Jobs Census, in 2016, solar jobs in Rhode Island grew 77 times faster than growth in the overall economy.

As the solar sector expands, it’s critical for those interested in working in this field to stay up to speed on developing trends and technologies. Following a standard of best practices and conducts is also key for a long-lasting career in the industry.

Matt P_PV Training-1.jpgFor eager solar professionals seeking opportunities to further their credentials, many turn to the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, or NABCEP. NABCEP is an established and well-respected national certification organization in the field of renewable energy. It offers several voluntary certifications, one of which is the PV Technical Sales Certification. Earning this certification ensures competency in analyzing a site for solar potential, determining an appropriately sized system, assessing the costs and benefits, and summarizing findings to prospective customers. Because it is defined by a set of national standards, this certification gives professionals greater credibility in the solar industry and provides customers with higher trust in the quality of service they receive. To qualify for the certification exam, candidates must have PV system sales experience, complete specified trainings, and have an OSHA 10-hour Construction Card.

This year, the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources and Real Jobs Rhode Island are launching a Rhode Island PV Sales Training Course to prepare participants for the Technical Sales Training Certification. This comprehensive 32-hour course includes training material covering the certification exam content, an overview of installation best practices and common violations, and Rhode Island solar incentives. With the course being instructed by two industry experts, Matt Piantedosi and Mike Kocsmiersky, participants will sharpen their knowledge of the solar industry and become well-prepared for the NABCEP PV Technical Sales Certification exam.

Whether it’s taking the next step in one’s solar career, or taking the very first step and starting a solar career, this certification can help all solar professionals in succeeding. With only 40 spots available for enrollment, don’t wait to sign up!
